Smoky Mountain Sports Complex is a privately held Tennessee company.  Fred Gause is the principal owner. Mr. Gause holds 2 business degrees from Florida State University.  He is owner and President of Smoky Mountain Books, a successful internet-based new & used book business. It was his son’s participation in an AAU traveling basketball team and his love for youth sports that precipitated his interest in building the Smoky Mountain Sports Complex. email Fred Gause

Mike Mech (Director of Operations)…
has over 18 years of experience coaching youth baseball and basketball.  He has coached teams to 15 district, 8 state, and 4 regional championships.  During his coaching tenure he has acted as tournament director for over 35 baseball and basketball tournaments.  Mike is well known and respected in the youth sports community and will be able to use his networking skills to make the necessary contacts for a successful tournament season. email Mike Mech

John Williams (Asst. Director of Operations)…
is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and has been involved in the local sports scene since he moved to East Tennessee in 1995.  He lettered in football and baseball at Elizabethton High School.  He then went on to coach football at T.A. Dugger middle school for five years.  He has also umpired at the little league level.  He is passionate about sports, and even more passionate about helping today’s young people. email John Williams
